IDT Energy: Digital Tools Help Consumers Save Energy

In a study conducted by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory of the Energy Department, it was found that if homeowners have digital tools to adjust the temperatures they prefer against the price they are willing to pay, energy consumption, especially at peak times could be reduced, and a lot of money could be saved.

What consumers were able to do was essentially decide on the trade-off they are willing to make between the comfort they wish to experience versus the savings they would like to enjoy. Energy consumers turned out to be highly interested in saving energy and money, which over time and with a large population of people could reduce the number of new power plants that will need to be built.

IDT Energy supports such efforts to investigate better ways for consumers to save money without sacrificing their quality of life.
